Accenture books $22.2 billion as AI work spreads to 400 clients
Accenture closed its fiscal year with $22.17 billion in new bookings in the fourth quarter. More than 400 clients started advanced AI projects during the year, and the firm now counts about 110,000 AI and data professionals. For buyers of advisory work, the numbers show where the large firms are putting their people.

Accenture reported $22.17 billion in new bookings for the fourth quarter of its fiscal 2026, according to results released on Oct. 1. Bookings rose 4% in US dollars and 5% in local currency, and the book-to-bill ratio was 1.2, meaning the firm signed more new work than it billed in the quarter.
The release puts artificial intelligence at the center. More than 400 clients started what Accenture calls advanced AI work during the fiscal year, nearly 100 of them in the fourth quarter. The firm now employs about 110,000 AI and data professionals, past its three-year goal of growing that workforce from 40,000 to 80,000. Over the year it signed 141 client deals worth more than $100 million each, 12 more than in the prior year, and it counts 317 so-called Diamond clients, its largest relationships.
Accenture sells its work under the Reinvention Services label, which groups cybersecurity, core systems, finance, supply chain, talent and its Song marketing arm, with AI and data as a capability across all of them.
The short version
When the largest advisory firm reports that AI work has moved from pilots to hundreds of clients, smaller agencies and independent advisers feel it in two ways. Clients will ask what AI changes in the engagement and the price. And the talent market for AI and data specialists stays tight, because the large firms keep hiring. Independent advisers who can show completed AI projects with measured results have the clearest answer to both.
